Lancashire Ladies’ County Golf Association - Inter-club handicap qualifying round on Monday 11 May at Lytham Green Drive
The team of Sue Chapman, Trudy Hubbard, Sarah Hunter and Lynn Penswick came second to Lytham Green Drive (238) with a score of 240 in a field of 20 clubs from North West Lancashire. This means that both Silverdale and Lytham Green Drive move forward to the Lancashire Ladies’ finals on 21st September at Grange Park, St Helens.
Northern Counties Veteran Ladies’ Golf Association Championship at Brampton Golf Club
Trudy Hubbard and Sue Chapman along with Jeanette Williams (Pleasington GC) to represent Lancashire in this veterans championship. Trudy had the best nett score with a gross 80 and nett 72. The team won the Nett Trophy with Yorkshire winning the team Gross Trophy.
On the following day Trudy went onto play in the first round of the knock-out match play against Hilary Smyth the Yorkshire Champion and provided the biggest news of the morning by eliminating her with a score of 1 up. Unfortunately she lost to Sue Dyer in the afternoon round by 6&5. Congratulations to Trudy and Sue.
Lancashire Ladies’ County Golf Association Championship at Preston Golf Club on May 25th
Sarah Hunter, Silverdale’s 20 year old with a handicap of 4 was eligible to play in the county championship and did magnificantly in her first time here. She scored a 75 gross and was pipped from receiving the Carr Gold Medal (awarded to the best gross score on the first day of the championship)on a card play-off over the back 6 holes by Brogan Townsend of Royal Lytham St Annes. Her handicap is now 3.7 On the following day, Sarah played in the first round of the knock-out and lost to Karen Heywood.Congratulations Sarah
Armitage Trophy - Sunday 12th July
This is a trophy played between Silverdale, Bentham and Lansil which at the inception of the trophy, were formerly all 9 hole courses. Now both Silverdale and Bentham are 18 hole courses. The trophy this year was played at Silverdale on a fine, warm and sunny day. However bentham were the winners with a marvellous gross score of 1164.

Silverdale Ladies Share Lancashire’s Interclub Handicap Team Trophy.
The eight teams in the final competition had to win their qualifying rounds against some other 90 clubs. The team played some excellent golf with Sarah playing well enough to reduce her handicap from 4.1 to 3.9.
