Introducing our new Steward, Lee Ellis
Hi Lee, welcome to Silverdale Golf Club. Tell us where you were before you joined us?
I have been in the hospitality sector for over 18 years, most recently at the Manor Inn, Cockerham.
Do you play golf?
Yes, but not recently. I used to play off 18 at Bentham. I am looking forward to having a round at Silverdale.
We have completed the clubhouse refurbishment – what do you think?
I am very impressed with the improvements. I have loads of ideas to develop the business.
Who will be helping you in the clubhouse?
As well as a few familiar faces (barmaids), I will be assisted by my Head Chef, Neil Wilkinson.
Are Fish and Chip Fridays starting up again?
They have already started! We will also be starting Sunday lunches on 25 March. Look out for mid-week themed nights starting soon, e.g. steak nights, curry nights, etc.
At what times will food be available?
As of Monday 26 March (yes – we are opening every Monday) food will be available from 11 a.m. til late every day.
Will we be having a Beer and Golf Festival this year?
Yes this will be from 3 to 8 July. We plan to have at least 20 beers and live music every day.
Can you do Hog Roasts or BBQ’s?
Yes I have my own equipment to do both – watch this space for details of future events.
Do you have any plans to try and make the Clubhouse busier?
Apart from good food at reasonable prices and the ideas already mentioned, there will be lots more social events in the future.
