Charity Day Report
The weather stayed fine for the charity day on Saturday. The 3 teams completed the 72 holes and were cheered onto the last hole by 60 members , guests and family. The winners of the men's comp were James Cullen and Roger Sharples , the mixed comp winners were Margaret and Mike Roberts , and the ladies winner was Christine Birchall. The 72 hole challenge was won by the Silverdale Hillbillys with a score of 382 with Kevan Holden scoring 181 point over the 4 rounds. A fabulous evening entertainment was provided by DJ James "Timber" Taylor who had the "dale" rocking. The lady Captain and the 3 teams would like to say a big thank you to everyone who participated, donated and cheered the boys home. The whole day raised a massive £2400 for the MS Society and Macmillan Cancer Support. The photo shows our 12 heroes, who even after 72 holes, were still able to give us their rendition of "Sweet Caroline".
