Course Update 17 May 2020
Course Reopening I would just like to give an update. You all know we opened on Wednesday playing 9 holes, those being 1and then 11 to 18. A lot of our members have taken the chance to get out on the course, many more than once. How strange to hit off the fairway and even stranger, to have run on the ball ! On guidance from Mark, our head greenkeeper, we will play the same holes tomorrow – that's Monday, Tuesday and then from Wednesday we be able to play eleven holes. That will be 1 straight through to 11. This will give 12 to 18 a rest, hopefully some water and a little TLC so they can recover. With a fair wind, we should be fully open, that's all 18 holes being played from Wednesday 27th May. That is, the course being fully open, not the Clubhouse. This is subject to us all continuing to play and operate in accordance with the local advice we have issued. It is also subject to further guidance from Mark and assuming no significant change from the Government's advice or that received from the England or Lancashire Golf Unions. The Board will hold a virtual meeting again on Tuesday to review all aspects of the first week since reopening. Enjoy your golf but most important, please stay safe, Best wishes, Steve Abbott Captain Silverdale Golf Club
