We managed a quick word with Gemma from Chefs Catering Nothwest on Joint Captains’ Day – here’s what was said:

Hi Gemma, welcome to Silverdale Golf Club. We understand that Chefs Catering Northwest are going to be our new “Clubhouse Stewards” – can you tell us who are Chefs Catering Northwest?

"Chefs Catering North West is a family focused business, founded by Gemma Gardner (mother, wife, veteran and inspirational business woman of the year 2017/2018). Due to the growth of the company her husband Gareth Gardner took over as managing Director, joined by Scott Williams Catering Director and Robert Mee Charities Director. With over 35 years military experience and 40 years in the hospitality industry, between them they believe great customer service and traditional English food is the way to start all great relationships.......

They specialise in fine dining, afternoon tea, BBQs and buffets."

You have a lot to do to get ready, but when do you think our Clubhouse will open again?

"We are coming to work in partnership to deliver great food and hospitality to Silverdale Golf Club members and social members. We appreciate the challenges everyone currently faces with the pandemic, however together we can open our doors this coming Saturday from 9am right through to 6pm. By providing table service. Together we can ensure our members stay safe and our staff, whilst enjoying a pint and great food with family and friends".

When will you have menus ready?

"Please have a look on our website (www.chefscatering-northwest.uk) and Facebook to see your new menus, these menus are simple and tasty while we rebuild the menus with the members' advice and guidance. To do this we will be launching our Sunday roasts on the 5th July and Fish Friday from 10th July.

Anyone and everyone can book a table in the Oak tree restaurant, we do advise booking to ensure you get a table. There will be a couple of tables near the bar that will not require booking for members and outside on the hard standing in front of the clubhouse."

You seem to be doing great with home deliveries – will this be available here?

"You may have seen us at Heysham Golf Club, where we provide all our outside catering services from: Weddings, baby showers, funerals and anniversaries, including our homely meal service. We would love to run a food collection service from Silverdale Golf Club, this will start with Fish Fridays".
