Here it is, our most successful post on Facebook for 2021 was our "Good Luck" message to Linda and Mark when they took over the running of our restaurant and bar on the 1st of December. They seem to have settled in nicely and are now serving up quality food and refreshments in our lovely clubhouse. We have had one google review as well (5 stars). Our Winter League Provide More Christmas Cheer
Mr. Captain was at the Club today and played in the Seniors' roll-up. But, as you can see from the photos, he had other reasons to be there. Our Winter League have been collecting for Christmas boxes for the Proshop and Greenkeepers. A total of £445 was collected and shared between David and Edwina and the greenkeepers. Christmas Cheer for our Greenkeepers
This photo shows our new Seniors Chairman, Roger Sharples presenting a gift of £255 from our Seniors Section to Mark Kippax our Head Greenkeeper. The amount raised came mainly from the Seniors who competed in the "4 Club Challenge" on the 16th of November, however the total was topped up by quite a few other Seniors who left donations with Edwina in the Proshop. The New President of The Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs
Dr. Jerry Martin, a longstanding member of SGC, has been elected President of the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs for the year 2022-2023. The union oversees amateur golf at one hundred and thirty nine golf clubs throughout the county.
