Pro's Charity Day Raises £610
Our PGA Professional, David Sutcliffe has reported on Facebook that his charity day, in aid of Lennox Children's Cancer Fund, has raised £610. He posted "We have just handed over the proceeds from the Professionals charity event to the regional organiser from the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund Mrs Marilyn Hurt. Following our successful Golf Festival, we are pleased to announce 3 further Opens in August. On Saturday 7 August we have a Ladies Open. Our biggest field so far this week, 32 teams of four competed in our Texas Scramble Open in glorious weather on a well-prepared course. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers who organize the car parking, the announcing on the first tee and the scoring. Team handicaps were calculated as per the new rules of the World Handicap System and this meant some really low scores were posted. Although the forecast wasn't great, we seem to have got away with it with the occasional light shower.
